Provincial Competitive Program
Our provincial level competitive program is for athletes ages 9 and up who have mastered the basics and have begun working on the advanced elements and connections on trampoline, tumbling, and double-mini trampoline. The provincial level splits into four levels. Starting in level one, athletes learn skills such as baranis, front 3/4 , and back spring connections. As they progress, athletes acquire skills such as back fulls, rudis, and whips. Once athletes enter level four they will begin working on double fulls and even double back tucks. Provincial athletes spend 3 days a week in the gym for 2.5-3 hours each day. As skill level increases, it is important that the trampolinists have the strength and flexibility to perform these skills safely, so about 1.5 hours each week is spent on strength conditioning.
In this level, there are 5-8 competitions a year held within Alberta. Athletes from across Alberta compete on trampoline, tumbling, double-mini, and synchronised trampoline. One competition a year, Western Championships, is held in one of the Western provinces, and athletes from each of these provinces compete in the four events. Typically competitions for these levels take place between January and June, while the remainder of the year focuses on skill development.
The competitive program is a 12 month long program, with the year starting July 1st. Please contact our us at [email protected], to find out more information or to book a tryout.
